Lockheed Martin completed its acquisition of Ultra Maritime on October 26, adding the undersea-warfare company to its Rotary and Mission Systems business area, the company said.
Ultra Maritime supplies sonobuoys, towed sonar arrays and hull-mounted sonar products to allied naval customers. Its portfolio also includes torpedo-defense systems, radar, electronic warfare and autonomous maritime sensing technologies, according to Lockheed Martin’s announcement. Defence Industry Europe reported that the acquisition expands Lockheed Martin’s range of sonar offerings for next-generation maritime platforms.
Lockheed Martin said Ultra Maritime’s international operations and undersea-warfare products will complement its existing capabilities. The company did not disclose the transaction’s financial terms, and the announcement did not provide a production, delivery or fielding schedule.
